PCS Card

According to statistics provided by RAND, at least one-third of Army families will experience a Permanent Change of Station each year. That’s over 500 active duty families moving each day throughout the world. A career military family may move 5 to 9 times over the course of 20 years. Me? I’ve moved a total of 8 times over the last 8 years. With such a frequently occurring event, it only seemed natural to create a greeting card to celebrate! This particular card can be customized for the recipient, including previous duty stations and even a tattoo.

Coming soon: retirement and promotion greeting cards.

Inspired by vintage travel posters, I turned one of my Guam photographs into a vector, color-saturated design.

Vector Portraits

Last Christmas, we sent out a newsletter, filling in family and friends of our many adventures during 2009. We had quite an eventful year. To add a little personality to it, I made vector images of my husband and I, positioned at the end of the letter, near our signatures.

I now create vector self portraits for other couples and families. Check out my etsy store for more info!

Customized Seating Chart

I created this seating chart to go along with our the vintage island theme of our wedding. I was inspired by a replica map from Colonial Williamsburg, a gift I received from my husband. I also made matching table tents for each “island” table.

Wedding Invitations

Mrs. Jan Miller, from Mellen Street Graphics, created the perfect look to adorn my wedding stationary set. When we first met to discuss the invitation, I had already chosen the paper, but the blank canvases needed her creative input. We worked together during the design process and the result was a wedding stationary suite that coordinated with the rest of the wedding details. I silk-screened her design and assembled the invitations by hand.

Fort Rucker AAFES Main Exchange Grand Re-Opening

The Grand Re-Opening of the Fort Rucker Main Exchange was a major project that was several months in the making. The Visual Merchandising Team was in charge of printed publications, on-line advertising, marketing, community relations, and event planning. Visual Merchandising products were created with themes in mind, to give the entire event a sophisticated air through cohesiveness in design. Print products coordinated with decorations. Fliers mirrored on-line designs. The execution was seamless and harmonious, ensuring the customers enjoyed the experience. Featured here are the two main posters, along with matching window cling decals for the front entrance of the Main Exchange mall. Side doors displayed coordinated window cling decals.

Fort Rucker AAFES Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month was one of the first big events planned while I was at AAFES. Planning started with design of Visual Merchandising products, such as banners, posters, and fliers, and layout of activity spaces. Next, organizations and vendors were contacted for participation. Several non-profit groups performed for the facility customers throughout an entire weekend of scheduled events. Press releases were issued to ensure coverage by local media outlets. Overall, the event was well-received by customers and laid the foundations for a successful Grand Re-Opening Event a couple months later.

Fort Rucker AAFES Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child, in which military organizations and affiliates celebrate the sacrifices made by the smallest members of the military family. This year, Fort Rucker AAFES put a lot of effort into planning free, fun and engaging events throughout an entire weekend. Visual Merchandising products included banners, posters, fliers, as well as customized coloring sheets for contest entry. Graphics for the coloring sheets were provided by monthofthemilitarychild.com.
